Budget season is upon us, and the district presented its dream budget at last week's School Board meeting. The first presentation represents everything needed to make significant and speedy progress towards the Board's Ends, the district's mission and our improvement initiatives. It's an opportunity for the three communities to evaluate our needs in order to help up prioritize what will be asked for in the realistic budget presented in December. We need and desire your input.
The next meeting with the community is scheduled for December 4th in the RUHS media center at 6:30 PM. We'll discuss the dream budget, explain what parts are most important to the district and school level leaders, and ask for your input on where to prioritize our efforts. We will also seek feedback on two major initiatives that could have a dramatic positive impact on the district: free, full-day pre-school for four year olds and the creation of a middle school to serve the unique needs of those students.
Community feedback is vital to gauge the level of support for these initiates, to learn from your hopes and concerns, and to incorporate the best of the best when it comes to the ideas these forums generate. We hope to see you there.
